CAGC 2011 – DAY 3 RESULTS

The third day of play in the RBC Royal Bank 55th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships (CAGC 2011) began on schedule at 7.30 a.m. This morning’s rounds were interrupted by 2 minor delays as a result of heavy downpours of rain. Accompanying winds and a slow course made it challenging like yesterday as golfers as they made their rounds, intensifying their game in an effort to dominate in their respective categories: Men Over 35 (Ramon Baez Trophy), Ladies’ Open Championship (George Teale Trophy) and the prestigious Men’s Open Competition (Hoerman Cup). Once again, inclement weather failed to dampen their spirits.

CAGC 2011 – DAY 2 AFTERNOON RESULTS

RESULTS AFTERNOON TEE LIST:
MEN OVER 50 (Francis and Steele-Perkins Trophy):
Trinidad and Tobago leads the standing in this senior category after a superb score by Carlos “Sexy” Baynes and team mate Michael “Jack” Commissiong. Their second round of 61 strokes (which includes 9 birdies and 1 eagle by Carlos “Sexy” Baynes on hole 18) helped them sit in the first place by an 11 stroke difference over the Barbados team, which is even par, after 36 holes played. Cayman Islands is in solo third place while the Bahamas and Puerto Rico tied in fouth place.

CAGC 2011 Day 2 Results

The second day of the RBC Royal Bank 55th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships (CAGC 2011) began on schedule at 7.30 a.m. Play was however set back by weather conditions extremely different to the idyllic ones enjoyed yesterday. Accompanying winds from 4 different directions and a soggy course made it challenging for golfers as they made their rounds, intensifying their game in an effort to dominate in their respective categories: Men Over 35 (Ramon Baez Trophy), Ladies’ Open Championship (George Teale Trophy) and the prestigious Men’s Open Competition (Hoerman Cup). Inclement weather conditions however failed to dampen their spirits.

CAGC 2011 Day 1 Results

 A bright blue sky and verdant smooth greens at the Millennium Lakes Golf Club in Trincity, Trinidad welcomed the early starters on the first day of the 4-day RBC Royal Bank 55th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships (CAGC 2011).  Teeing off at 7.30 a.m. with no weather related delays and clubs in hand, 84 of the region’s strongest male and female golfers began their quest for victory in the categories slated into the morning’s Tee List: Men Over 35 (Ramon Baez Trophy), Ladies’ Open Championship (George Teale Trophy) and the prestigious Men’s Open Competition (Hoerman Cup).

Caribbean Golfers On Course To Becoming Champions

3rd August, 2011:  Following on from 2 days of practice rounds, the RBC Royal Bank 55th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships (CAGC 2011) teed off at Millenium Lakes Golf Club, Trincity, Trinidad.  2011 marks the twelfth occasion that Trinidad and Tobago will host the Championships and the first time that Millenium will serve as host course.

 With its par 71 Championship layout, the course is home to the best of the Caribbean’s golfing talent from 7.30 a.m. every day until Saturday, as national teams all aiming for victory, compete in morning and afternoon rounds.  The green manicured fairways are now the battleground on which golfers will showcase their individual skills as they strive to cop trophies in six categories:
